Involvement of parents and community members in planning and advisory groups, program support, reinforcement of

Activities designed to increase youth skills for understanding and countering media messages promoting alcohol and tobacco

Peer-Helping and Peer Leaders

Positive Alternatives
ATODV free activities that provide meaningful involvement in pro-social activities with pro-social peers, occupy free
time, provide adult supervision or positive relationships with adults, and provide knowledge, skills, and attitudes

School Policies
Implementation, communication, and enforcement of school policies regarding violence and possession or use of alcohol,
tobacco, and other drugs, as well as policies to prevent problem behaviors such as closed campus, dress codes, drug

Service-Learning/Community Service
A curriculum that integrates community activities where students learn and demonstrate academic skills while responding to

Student Assistance Programs
A comprehensive, multilevel approach that identifies problem behaviors, conducts further assessment using a multidisciplinary

Voluntary or mandatory, small group or one-to-one activities designed to educate about tobacco cessation, create awareness
